2008 Audi TT
STARTS AT $34,880
WHAT IS IT?
All new for 2008, the Audi TT is a two door roadster available with all –wheel drive Quatro and either a 2.0 turbo or 3.2 liter engine, making 200 and 250 hp respectively.
THE DAY
Dumb cold, with a little weather on the way. No worries in the all-wheel drive TT which not only looks like it owns the road, it sticks to it the same way. Most roadsters come with rear wheel drive, and that is why you don’t see too many of them in South Dakota. Time for that to change – these are the ultimate cars for those who crave driving pleasure, but are reasonable enough to know that South Dakota winters can be very harsh.
THE LOOKS
Classic German styling, fused with some interior Italian touches. What does that mean? It means that heads will turn and stare when you drive this, and the convertible in the summer will only do more of it. The inside is appointed nicely with the instrument panel perfectly balanced and stunning.
THE COOLEST THING
The retractable rear spoiler that pops up at 75mph that helps reduce drag is not only the coolest thing about the TT, it may be the coolest thing to come out of Germany since Heidi Klum.
DID YOU KNOW?
If the new TT used steel instead of aluminum for its 483 pound frame, it would have added 50% more weight to the frame.
PRIME SAYS
The TT remains one of the few iconic cars to arrive in the last decade, and Audi continues to make improvements. A little wider, a little taller, a lot lighter, and a lot faster. You should refer to it as Mr. TT.
