Better Balance = Better Golf

The best athletes in all sports tend to make their game look easy at times. Whether that be throwing a 100 mph fastball on the inside corner, threading the net on a 3 pointer from behind the arc or hitting a nice high draw over a bunker to a tight pin, all of these movements require a unique skill. The ability to repeat this skill is what determines greatness.

Golf is a game based on repetition. The ability to repeat an athletic movement over and over is largely dependant upon good balance. Golfers who are able to find balance within their swing will be rewarded with a movement pattern that is repeatable, efficient and will hold up for an entire round of golf.

Simply said, balance is the key to consistency.

One easy way to improve your golf game is to practice balancing on one foot. Believe it or not, the ability to balance on one leg is directly related to a quality swing. Wondering how? Ask yourself where the majority of your weight is at the top of your swing — and also at the finish.

Good golf swings balance and rotate around both legs throughout the swing. Improve your single leg balance and you will be improving your golf skills. With better balance, you too can make golf look easy at times.
