Seventh Annual “Gourmet Guys” Benefit Supports Successful Aging; Helps Seniors Remain Independent

The 7th annual “Gourmet Guys: Great Food for a Great Cause” celebration at The Center For Active Generations, Sunday April 13th will raise money to support activities and programs for older adults who need help and for those who strive to stay healthy, productive and active.

“It is important for people understand our mission here,” says Shelley Hanisch, Director of Development. “We are raising funds to support our Center fitness and education programs as well as for our special services designed to help seniors stay in their homes, in particular, Daybreak, Meals on Wheels, and Workers on Wheels.”

Forty prominent men from the Sioux Falls area, including sports figures, media personalities, doctors, and business owners, will dish up their personal culinary wonders at Gourmet Guys this year. Some of the creative menus are Cajun Toothpicks, Decadent Irish Cream Brownies, a Lefse Shack, “Oui Oui” Pork, Cravable Caprese Salad, Chicken Cordon Baritone, Grasshopper Pie, Heart Pumping Shredded Pork Tacos and Almost Major League Meatballs. John Sanders and Bailey Lauret from the Singing Boys choral group will be featured as youth chefs. Gene McGowan and The First Thursday Band will provide entertainment.

Gourmet Guys will be held Sunday April 13 from 5pm - 7:30 pm at the Center for Active Generations, 2300 West 46th Street in Sioux Falls. Entrees, soups, appetizers, salads and desserts will fill the menu for the evening. Complimentary beverages, beer and wine are included. Casual dress. The cost is $30 per person in advance, $35.00 at the door. One lucky ticket holder will win a spectacular ruby donated by Faini Designs Jewelry Studio. Tickets are available by calling 336-6722.
