Hunt to Eat, And Eat Well

The great pheasant hunting season in South Dakota is upon us and for most of us red-blooded South Dakota males, the moment cannot arrive fast enough. Hunting is more than going out to shoot animals; it is traditions passed down, it is family history, it is camaraderie. Hunting is the sound of the dried corn crunching under your feet; the barks of the labs as they restrain themselves from bursting into the fields, the smell of cigar smoke filling the lodge as you reminisce the day over whiskey and poker.

Live Well. Eat Better.

\We have all heard the news stories and seen the PSAs telling us to read the label and I’m not going to preach about trans-fats or caloric intake—we are in no shape to throw stones there. But we do encourage you to look at the labels and see if what you are about to eat passes one simple test: Do you know what the ingredients on the list are?
